University of North Texas Athletics has released the Mean Green men's basketball nonconference schedule for 2026-27, announced by the program and second-year head coach Daniyal Robinson. Nine of the 13 games are scheduled at the Super Pit in Denton.
North Texas opens Nov. 2 against Southwest Christian and then hosts McNeese on Nov. 5, Santa Clara on Nov. 11 and South Alabama on Nov. 14. McNeese and Santa Clara reached the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, while South Alabama appeared in the NIT. Overall, the schedule features three NCAA Tournament teams and two NIT teams from last season.
The first road game is Nov. 20 at App State in Boone, North Carolina. North Texas will compete in the Snake Rivers Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho, from Nov. 27-29 against Drake, North Dakota State and Boise State.
The team returns to Texas for games against Bradley on Dec. 4 and Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 6, then faces Texas State Dec. 13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth in the Coast-to-Coast Challenge. It is the program's second straight appearance in the event.
The final home games are Dec. 16 against Winthrop, Dec. 20 against Bethune-Cookman and Dec. 22 against the University of the Southwest. The American Conference schedule will be released later.
