Frontier Village & Museum at Loy Lake Park will hold its last Living History Day of 2026 on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the museum announced.

Admission is $8, according to the announcement, which was published by North Texas e-News.

On the grounds

Re-enactors will be stationed around the historic village for the day. Plans include a blacksmith at the forge, cannon firing, staged gunfights and a demonstration of old-fashioned butter making, along with other artisans showing their crafts, the museum said. Keith Newsome is scheduled to play live music.

A concession stand will sell lunch, and the museum invites visitors to eat in the park.

About the village

Frontier Village is at 111 R.C. Vaughan Road in Denison. The museum describes itself as entirely run by volunteers and funded mostly through donations. Its regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Monday, according to its website.

The village's historic homes and cabins, some dating to the 1840s, are usually open inside only on guided tours, but the museum says they are also open during Living History events.

Questions can go to the museum at (903) 463-2487.
