The Houston Texans have signed cornerback Bryce Hall, aiming to strengthen their roster before an upcoming preseason matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. General manager Nick Caserio confirmed the signing on August 17, following Hall's workout with the team.
Hall, who is 28 years old, has previously played for the New York Jets and most recently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Selected 158th overall in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he has participated in 40 games, starting in 26 of them.
Throughout his career, he has recorded a total of 122 tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery, one defensive touchdown, and half a sack. Standing at 6-foot-1, Hall brings versatility and is expected to make contributions on special teams, an area where the Texans are looking to improve.
The Texans are currently dealing with injury issues in their secondary, as multiple players, such as Tank Dell and Brevin Jordan, are sidelined due to various injuries. These challenges could have a notable effect on the team's special teams performance, making Hall's signing particularly timely as he aims to provide valuable depth and experience.
Updates on the Texans' roster and injury situation are expected as the preseason continues.
