A section of FM 691 was closed on Wednesday afternoon after a large vehicle fire broke out near the Denison-Sherman border. The incident occurred close to Gateway Boulevard, according to Denison Fire Rescue.
The department reported that a tractor-trailer rig became engulfed in flames. As the fire intensified, the blaze spread from the vehicle to a grassy field adjacent to the roadway.
Firefighters responded to the scene and worked to contain the multiple sources of ignition. Crews successfully brought both the truck fire and the grass fire under control.
