Jake Ferguson caught two touchdown passes as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders 37-20 at AT&T Stadium. His scores covered 10 and 12 yards, with the second coming after Dallas recovered a fumble inside Washington’s 20-yard line. The victory moved Dallas to 1-1 after its 28-20 Week 1 loss to the Giants.
Dak Prescott completed 26 throws for 279 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Two scoring passes went to Ferguson and two went to CeeDee Lamb, whose eight catches produced 153 yards. Lamb also caught a 24-yard touchdown that gave Prescott his 249th career scoring pass, moving him past Tony Romo for the franchise record.
Dallas converted seven of 11 third downs, scored four touchdowns and added three Brandon Aubrey field goals, including a 60-yarder.
Washington gained 389 yards to Dallas’ 332 and ran for 182 yards, compared with 66 for the Cowboys. The Commanders held the ball for 31:29, but Dallas did not commit a turnover and forced one. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels left after dislocating his left elbow on the final play before halftime at the Dallas 1-yard line.
Dan Quinn said imaging found no fracture. Marcus Mariota then went 11 of 16 for 111 yards and a touchdown. Dallas next faces Baltimore on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro at 3:25 p.m.
