The Houston Texans will be without wide receiver Nico Collins against the Cincinnati Bengals after he suffered a Grade 1 hamstring injury at Wednesday’s practice. Collins missed Houston’s last two practices of the week, then was designated out on the team’s final injury report.

Collins’ status for Houston’s Week 3 meeting with the Indianapolis Colts has not been determined. Aaron Wilson reported that the receiver remains under evaluation, and no additional information about a possible return was provided.

Houston is expected to spread Collins’ role among several players. Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel are possible candidates for increased work, while Jayden Higgins is unavailable because of a season-ending ACL injury. Collins opened the season with seven catches, 75 yards and one touchdown in the Texans’ 36-31 defeat against Buffalo.

He has been one of Houston’s most productive offensive players over the last three seasons. Quarterback C.J. Stroud found 11 teammates in that opener as the Texans look for their first victory.
