TCU has secured a commitment from North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks for its 2027 recruiting class. Brooks announced the change from Stephen F. Austin on social media Sept. 17, saying conversations with his family and personal prayer shaped the decision. He also said staying near home was a factor.
Brooks is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 265 pounds. His previous offers were primarily from Football Championship Subdivision programs, including Stephen F. Austin and Southern University. TCU presented his first Football Bowl Subdivision offer, and Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.
North Crowley began the season 3-0 with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are scheduled to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. Brooks is the 19th player committed to TCU’s 2027 class, which is ranked No. 54 nationally and eighth in the Big 12, according to a sports.yahoo.com report.
