ESPN.com reported that Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway will miss Saturday’s game against Louisiana Tech with an ankle injury. Nate Bennett will start for Baylor for the second straight game.
Lagway transferred from Florida and was hurt in Baylor’s season-opening loss to Auburn. He then missed last week’s game against Prairie View A&M after being listed as doubtful for the Louisiana Tech matchup. Bennett threw for 314 yards and was involved in four touchdowns against Prairie View A&M, while also throwing two interceptions.
Louisiana Tech will also have a new quarterback behind center. Blake Baker, the Bulldogs’ starter, is unavailable because of a hand injury. Trey Kukuk will receive the opening assignment against Baylor.
