The Dallas Cowboys are scheduled to depart Sept. 24 for a 10-hour flight to Rio de Janeiro, where they are set to face the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 27. The team has not provided a clear description of Von Miller’s role for the game.
Cornerback Cobie Durant, who has a hamstring strain, and safety PJ Locke, who tore the plantar fascia in his foot, are expected to miss multiple weeks. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown has a hamstring strain, while safety Malik Hooker has a broken forearm. Neither has been cleared to return after missing Dallas’ game against Washington.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said their availability could be hard to determine during the shorter week, with the first official injury report due Sept. 23. The team has not decided whether Durant or Locke will go on injured reserve.
Schottenheimer said Dallas could use other players, including linebacker elevations that worked against Washington, and make secondary adjustments.
