Loan Approval Process

The city council will receive a report, hold a discussion, and take action on a resolution. The resolution would grant approval for the interim city manager to enter into various loan documents with Government Capital Corporation. The funding supports the acquisition of a new aerial ladder truck for Denison Fire Rescue.

Historical Context and Development Needs

Council members previously approved the purchase of a new Pierce Ladder Truck on March 15, 2024. That initial approval covered a cost of approximately $2,150,000 from Siddens Martin. Officials ordered the apparatus to support the Preston Harbor development. Lead times for each piece of apparatus range from two to three years. The new station will require a ladder truck to meet operational needs.

Equipment Specifications

The current agenda item addresses the purchase of a Pierce-Custom Enforcer Aerial. The vehicle will be a 105 foot ladder truck. The Interim City Manager will handle the loan documentation for the acquisition.
