A construction worker was flown by air ambulance to a Dallas-area hospital Friday morning after a fall at the site of a future Take 5 Oil Change in Denison, according to reports from KXII and KTEN.

Denison Fire Rescue officials told KXII that a generator that was leaking fuel caught fire, and the flames startled the worker, who then fell roughly 16 feet.

The man was alert when crews reached him but could not explain what had happened, officials said. A fire marshal is investigating.

The two stations described the location slightly differently. KXII placed the job site on FM 120, between a QuikTrip and a Whataburger. KTEN reported it on Morton Street, just east of the U.S. 75 intersection.

KTEN reported that the worker's name and the nature of his injuries were not immediately available. Neither station reported his condition after he reached the hospital, and neither said whether the fire spread beyond the generator.

Both stations identified the property as the future home of a Take 5 Oil Change. Neither report named the worker's employer or the contractor building the shop.
