Denison, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott announced a $24.2 million Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund grant to FormFactor Inc. on July 2 for a new probe card manufacturing facility in Farmers Branch expected to create more than 600 jobs.

The advanced manufacturing facility represents $140 million to $170 million in capital investment over 2026 and will produce FormFactor's core probe card products, components used to test integrated circuits during wafer-level manufacturing. Governor Abbott said the investment fills a gap in the domestic semiconductor supply chain and advances Texas' leadership in the industry.

FormFactor CEO Mike Slessor said the company is pleased to partner with the state as it expands manufacturing capacity, noting that probe cards are used by global manufacturers of the logic and memory chips powering the AI revolution and modern data centers.

The grant comes through the Texas CHIPS Act, signed into law in 2023 to establish the semiconductor innovation fund and consortium. Senator Tan Parker called the investment a tremendous win for North Texas, and Representative Cassandra Garcia Hernandez said it anchors a critical piece of the global semiconductor ecosystem in the region.
