Denison drivers heading south on U.S. 75 will keep running into the six-lane widening project this week, according to the Texas Department of Transportation's Paris District road report for the week beginning Monday, Oct. 5.

The widening covers the highway from U.S. 82 in Sherman north to North Loy Lake Road. Inside Denison, the work includes a new U-turn bridge at Spur 503 and a rebuilt bridge at the same interchange. The work zone carries a 65 mph speed limit, and TxDOT may close main lanes overnight.

Crews are also building a shared-use path for the Katy Trail between Spur 503 and Loy Lake Road. The report lists crosswalks, ramps that meet ADA standards, parking and a rest area as part of that work.

Just south of town, two frontage road segments between Loy Lake Road and FM 691 remain closed for the long haul: the northbound side through February 2027 and the southbound side through June 2027. The frontage road U-turns at FM 691 are closed as well, and TxDOT advises turning left onto FM 691 and then left again at the next signal.

TxDOT says its schedules can change with weather or equipment trouble. Denison is about 9 miles north of Sherman, where the full Grayson County roundup appears: https://sherman.city/article/u-s-75-work-frontage-road-closures-continue-in-grayson-county-for-week-of-oct-5
