Denison police are asking for help finding the driver of a silver SUV that left the scene of a crash Tuesday night that injured two people.

The collision happened at about 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, where West Morton Street meets North Mirick Avenue, KXII reported, citing Denison police. One of the vehicles struck a light pole and knocked it down. Whoever was driving the second vehicle, a mid-sized silver SUV, did not stop.

The driver and a passenger in the vehicle that hit the pole had minor injuries and were taken to a hospital, police said.

What police are looking for

Investigators believe the SUV could have damage along one side. As of Wednesday morning the driver had not been found, according to the station.

Anyone who saw the crash or knows something about the SUV is asked to call the Denison Police Department at 903-465-2422.

Two blocks of West Morton, the 500 and 600 blocks, were closed for roughly 90 minutes Tuesday night so the downed pole could be hauled out of the street. The crash remains under investigation.
