Grayson College has been awarded $375,000 for equipment to support training for 75 heating, ventilation and air conditioning mechanics and installers, Gov. Greg Abbott’s office announced Oct. 12.

The money comes through the Texas Workforce Commission’s Jobs and Education for Texans program, which helps schools equip career-training programs. The Grayson award is among 84 grants totaling more than $20 million announced statewide.

Grayson’s current catalog lists heating, air conditioning and refrigeration courses at its main campus in Denison and its South Campus in Van Alstyne. Students can pursue certificates or an associate degree.

The state announcement does not identify which campus will receive the equipment, describe the purchases or give an installation date.
