Second inning sets tone
San Francisco created the margin it needed in the second inning, turning Gilbert’s single to right into the first run when Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo. Gilbert moved to third on the play, then scored when Basabe lifted a sacrifice fly to right for a 2-0 lead.
Lee supplied the remaining San Francisco runs in a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field. He homered to right center in the third inning, a 410-foot drive, added a 385-foot homer to right center in the eighth and brought in McCray with a sacrifice fly to center in the ninth.
Webb holds Texas down
Logan Webb earned the win for San Francisco, moving to 7-7. He worked 6.0 innings and allowed five hits with no earned runs, one walk and eight strikeouts.
Texas did not score until the ninth inning. Duran homered to left, a 406-foot shot, to make it 5-1. The homer was the Rangers’ only scoring play and one of three home runs in the game, along with Lee’s two drives.
Bullpen finishes it
San Francisco’s relief group preserved the lead after Webb. Keaton Winn recorded two outs, allowing one hit with no walks and one strikeout for his 12th hold. Sam Hentges pitched 1.1 innings without allowing a hit, with one walk and one strikeout, and was credited with his seventh hold.
