Early Offense Sets the Pace
The visiting Brewers established a commanding lead in the opening frames, scoring three times in the first two innings. Jackson Chourio initiated the scoring with a home run to center field that traveled 396 feet. Shortly after, William Contreras extended the advantage with a blast to left field of 409 feet.
In the second inning, the Brewers added another run when Luis Lara singled to center, allowing Christian Yelich to score. By the end of the second, Milwaukee had built a 3-0 lead that would prove difficult for Texas to overcome.
Rangers Strike Back
Texas managed to find some life in the fifth inning. Wyatt Freeman hit a home run to left center that carried 388 feet, trimming the deficit to 3-1. However, the Brewers responded immediately in the seventh inning to re-establish their dominance.
Lara singled to left, scoring Contreras and advancing Yelich to second base. The Brewers followed with a sacrifice fly by Garrett Mitchell, who scored on the play to left field. These two runs pushed the margin back out to 5-1.
Final Inning Drama
The Rangers made their final push in the eighth inning. Aaron Nimmo hit a home run to right center that traveled 426 feet, allowing Josh Seager to score as well. This two-run homer brought Texas within two runs, making the score 5-3. The Brewers' bullpen managed to hold on for the final outs to secure the victory.
Pitching Performance
Shane Drohan earned the win for Milwaukee, pitching five innings while allowing six hits and one run. He struck out six batters and walked one. Chad Patrick recorded the save, pitching two and one-third innings with one hit, two runs, one walk, and one strikeout.
For Texas, Cal Quantrill took the loss, pitching six innings while allowing four hits and three runs. He struck out eight batters without issuing a walk. Jakob Junis pitched one inning, allowing no hits or runs while walking three batters and striking out two.
Peyton Gray pitched one inning, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one. Antonio Senzatela pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit and no runs.
