The Los Angeles Angels seized control of the contest in the sixth inning, erupting for four runs to break a tie and pull ahead for good. The scoring began when Taylor Guerrieri doubled to left field, allowing Jared Grissom to score from first base. Shortly after, Josh Smith executed a sacrifice bunt that allowed Guerrieri to cross home plate.
Trout then singled to center, bringing Smith home and extending the lead. Frazier added an insurance run with a hit to first base, making it 5-2.
