Adell and Trout Lead the Charge

Josh Adell and Mike Trout provided the offensive firepower as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Texas Rangers 13-1 on Thursday at Globe Life Field. Adell launched two home runs, including a three-run blast in the fifth inning that helped break open the game. Trout added a two-run homer in the eighth inning, contributing significantly to the Angels' dominant performance.

Early Runs Set the Tone

The Angels jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when Grissom singled to left field, allowing Neto to score. The momentum continued into the fourth inning when Adell homered to right field, a 359-foot shot that scored Grissom as well, extending the Angels' lead to 3-0.

Fifth Inning Explosion

The fifth inning proved to be the turning point for the Angels. Grissom singled to left again, bringing Neto home and putting Trout in scoring position. Adell then connected on a 433-foot home run to center field, driving in three runs and making the score 7-0. This massive inning shifted the game's dynamic, putting the Rangers in a deep hole.

Pitching Dominance and Late Scoring

Angels pitchers held the Rangers' offense in check. Walbert Urena started for Los Angeles, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing only one hit. Samy Natera Jr. earned the win with 2.0 scoreless innings, striking out five batters. Ryan Zeferjahn and Mitch Farris also contributed scoreless relief.

The Rangers managed to score their only run in the eighth inning when Kyle Higashioka homered to left center. However, the Angels added two more runs in the ninth inning. Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Adell, and Siri singled to left, bringing Guzman home to finalize the 13-1 score.

The final score was Los Angeles Angels 13, Texas Rangers 1. The game drew an attendance of 23,288 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. With this victory, the Angels improved their record to 37-56, while the Rangers fell to 46-46.
