Tristan Peters Leads the Charge

Tristan Peters delivered a pivotal offensive performance to help the Chicago White Sox defeat the Texas Rangers 11-7 at Rate Field on Tuesday. Peters went 2-for-4, contributing two runs and driving in two more as the White Sox secured their 69th win of the season.

Peters opened the scoring threat in the first inning with a single to left field that allowed Zach Vargas to reach second base. He later scored when Andrew Vaughn doubled to right field, bringing home Vargas and Josh Smith. Peters added another run in the sixth inning with a solo home run to right field, marking his eighth long ball of the season.

Early Scoring Surge

The White Sox established an early lead through aggressive base running and timely hitting. In the top of the first inning, they capitalized on defensive miscues by Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Smith. Vargas reached second after a throwing error, while Vaughn advanced to third before scoring on Peters’ double.

Andrew Vaughn extended the lead further with a two-run double that brought home Vargas and Josh Smith. The White Sox added another run when Andrew Vaughn singled to center field, allowing Vaughan to score from third base.

Rangers Respond in Later Innings

Texas Rangers hitters found some success against Chicago White Sox pitching in the middle innings. Matt Olson homered to center field in the second inning for a solo shot. C.J. Cron added an RBI single in the fourth inning that scored Vaughn, while Vaughn himself scored on a subsequent single by Vaughn.

The Rangers continued to chip away at the deficit in the fifth inning. Vaughn hit a two-run home run to left field, and Andrew Vaughn followed with a single that brought home another run. C.J. Cron tripled to right field later in the inning, scoring Vaughn from third base.

Pitching Decisions Shape Outcome

Chicago White Sox reliever Bryan Hudson earned the win after pitching 1.1 scoreless innings of relief. He struck out no batters but maintained control by allowing zero hits and walks. Hagen Smith pitched 1.2 innings in relief, striking out one batter while issuing three walks.

Texas Rangers starter Jacob deGrom took the loss despite recording two strikeouts. He allowed six hits and eight earned runs over 3.2 innings of work. Cole Winn contributed 1.1 innings with two strikeouts, while Peyton Gray added one inning with three strikeouts for Texas.

The final score reflected the White Sox offensive output, with Vaughn recording multiple RBIs and Peters contributing significantly on the basepaths. The Rangers finished with a record of 66-67, while the White Sox improved to 69-63.
