Turning Point
The game’s momentum shifted dramatically in the eighth inning when Osuna delivered a decisive blow. With the Rangers trailing 3-2, Osuna launched a 364-foot home run to right field, driving in Duran and Foscue to give Texas a 5-3 advantage. That single play proved to be the difference, as the Rangers added three more runs in the frame to secure an 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels at Globe Life Field.
Early Inning Action
The Angels jumped out to an early lead, but the Rangers responded quickly. In the first inning, Schanuel scored on a double by Soler to left field, followed by Soler himself crossing the plate on a Lowe single to center. The Rangers took a 2-0 lead before Los Angeles rallied in the second. Lopez singled to left, allowing Carter and Osuna to score, tying the game at 2-2.
The score remained deadlocked until the seventh inning when Meckler singled to left to drive in Peraza, giving Texas a 3-2 lead. However, the Angels tied the game again when Foscue homered to left (387 feet). The Rangers’ offense exploded in the eighth. Duran singled to left to score Smith, making it 3-3. Foscue then singled to left to score Burger, putting Texas ahead 5-3 before Osuna’s three-run shot sealed the deal.
