His advance was aided by a throwing error from Angels third baseman Guzman, allowing Langford to score from second base. Nimmo moved to second during the play.

Jose Fermin, Tayler Saucedo, and Ryan Watson each threw one inning of scoreless relief, combining for four strikeouts and allowing just three hits total.

Ben Joyce pitched 0.2 innings, giving up two hits and one walk with one strikeout before taking the loss (0-1).

The contest was played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, before a crowd of 29,309 attendees. No home runs were recorded during the game.

The final score stood at Texas Rangers 2, Los Angeles Angels 1. With this result, the Texas Rangers improved their record to 64-65. The Los Angeles Angels fell to 51-78 on the season.
