The Houston Texans have signed wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley to their practice squad, according to a report by The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov. Tinsley, who is 26 years old and stands 6 feet 1 inch tall, previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals, where he made eight receptions for 116 yards and scored two touchdowns last season.
His exit from the Bengals comes as the team has a strong roster of wide receivers, leading to interest from multiple teams.
The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. remarked that Tinsley likely views a better chance for playing time in Houston, particularly as the Texans have been looking to enhance their wide receiver depth this month. Tinsley joins fellow practice squad members Lewis Bond and Josh Kelly. He had a notable preseason in 2025, which contributed to his initial placement on the Bengals' roster.
Tinsley, who went undrafted, has started four of 19 regular-season games so far. He is known as a possession receiver with solid ball skills, though he may struggle with speed and quickness for separation.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein noted that Tinsley is adept at making challenging catches, especially in the middle of the field, despite some athletic limitations that might restrict him to a zone-beating role from the slot.
