Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko confirmed that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the rest of the 2026 season due to a lower-body injury that necessitates surgery. This injury occurred during a practice session, and Williams was not in uniform for the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines.
Williams is the third wide receiver to be unavailable before the season began. Earlier, Jonah Wilson was removed from the roster after transferring from Houston, and Jerome Myles was announced as no longer part of the program due to personal reasons. Myles, a former five-star recruit, missed the entire 2025 season due to injury.
With Williams sidelined, Texas A&M will depend on its main wide receivers, including Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. The absence of Williams provides opportunities for others, such as true freshman Aaron Gregory, who caught a touchdown pass during the opener. Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will also see increased chances for playing time, with Johnson recording three catches against Missouri State.
The team will finalize its wide receiver depth chart over the next two games ahead of a matchup against LSU in Baton Rouge.
