The Houston Texans have announced the signing of running back Deuce Vaughn, a former player for the Denver Broncos. Vaughn, who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, spent the entire 2025 season on the Broncos' practice squad after joining in September of the previous year. He re-signed with Denver on a reserve/future contract in January but was released in May.
After his departure from the Broncos, Vaughn played for the UFL's Orlando Storm before returning to the NFL with the Texans.
To make room for Vaughn, the Texans waived wide receiver Juwann Winfree, who also previously played for the Broncos. The team conducted workouts with former Denver receiver Josh Reynolds and running back Blake Watson, according to the NFL's transaction wire.
Currently, four other former Broncos practice squad players remain free agents after their contracts expired in February, including quarterback Ben DiNucci and tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Patrick Murtagh. Defensive lineman Jonathan Harris has recently worked out for the Minnesota Vikings. No further information about Vaughn's role with the Texans or Winfree's future plans has been disclosed.
