The Houston Texans have completed their 53-man roster, featuring undrafted rookie defensive end Sabastian Harsh. Initially, Harsh's chances of making the team appeared slim, but his dedication and impressive preseason performances earned him a place on the roster.

Harsh shared his anxiety leading up to the roster announcement, recalling a conversation with his parents as he awaited the news. He expressed his excitement upon seeing his name on the list, stating, "Oh my gosh. Like, that is pretty cool, man."

After missing the first preseason game due to injury, Harsh excelled in his second opportunity against the Carolina Panthers. He recorded three tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, two quarterback hits, and one pass breakup, which significantly enhanced his chances of making the team.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans noted Harsh's potential contributions in both pass rushing and run defense as key factors in his selection.

Despite this achievement, Harsh remains committed to improving, saying, "Even still now, like, I haven't done it yet. So, still got a lot more work to do." As the regular season nears, he will benefit from the guidance of experienced edge rushers Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, with many observing how he will influence the Texans' defense during the 2026 season.
