The Houston Texans have one practice left before Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, but the team has not made a final decision on Nico Collins’ availability. The wide receiver sat out his second consecutive practice because of a hamstring injury, leaving his status for the Week 3 matchup uncertain.
Collins hurt the hamstring while preparing for Week 2 and missed Houston’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He opened the season with seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in the Texans’ 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills. If he cannot play at Lucas Oil Stadium, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see more opportunities.
Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced 175 receiving yards on 16 catches through two games, the team’s highest downfield total.
A missed Week 3 game would push Collins’ next chance to play to Week 4, when Houston is scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys. The 27-year-old has reached 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, including 1,117 yards in 2025, putting that run at risk. Collins, who played for the Michigan Wolverines, also received an offseason contract adjustment from the Texans.
