The Houston Texans brought in Kenneth Murray for a workout Tuesday as the team seeks linebacker depth following Henry To’oTo’o’s shoulder injury. To’oTo’o was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months. Houston also promoted linebacker Jamal Hill from its practice squad to the active roster.
Murray, 27, was the Los Angeles Chargers’ 23rd overall pick in 2020 after receiving All-American recognition at Oklahoma. He signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and topped that team in tackles. The Cowboys later obtained him from Tennessee for two draft picks.
Murray started each of Dallas’ 16 games last season. He recorded 81 tackles, two pass breakups, one sack, four tackles for loss and one fumble recovery, finishing second on the Cowboys in tackles. Since the offseason started, he has worked out for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants as well.
Houston could use him for practice-squad depth and elevate him for games, but no deal was reported. The Texans are set to host the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for noon on CBS.
