Dalton Schultz, the tight end for the Houston Texans, sat out all three preseason games. Along with Schultz, running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Nico Collins did not play, while quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited action during the matchup against the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a productive 2025 regular season, achieving a career-high of 82 receptions and 777 receiving yards, which was his top performance since his 2021 season with the Cowboys, where he recorded 808 yards.
With Jayden Higgins out for the entire 2026 season because of a knee injury and Tank Dell beginning the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are anticipated to be significant targets for Stroud as the season progresses.
