The NCAA's investigation found that Nuness engaged in impermissible sports betting activities while working at Baylor. Between December 29, 2020, and November 28, 2025, he reportedly placed around 3,400 bets, amounting to approximately $38,000 on professional sports. Additionally, he permitted his son to use his betting accounts, which resulted in three bets totaling $170 on college competitions, although none involved Baylor's programs.
Nuness accepted full responsibility for these violations, which the NCAA categorized as Level II infractions. The organization maintains strict regulations against betting by personnel to uphold the integrity of college sports.
