Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Smith will undergo surgery on his injured thumb, according to a report by Joe Hoyt from The Dallas Morning News. The 25-year-old is expected to be out for four to six weeks and is likely to be placed on injured reserve shortly.

In his absence, T.J. Bass is anticipated to step in as the starting left guard for the Cowboys as they gear up for the upcoming regular season.
