Jalen Thompson is expected to be unavailable for a minimum of four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury, Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. The team has not said whether it will place Thompson on injured reserve, although the safety could be added to that list.
Thompson left Dallas’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday after being hurt in the second quarter. His absence further reduces the Cowboys’ options at safety.
Malik Hooker has sat out the last two games with a forearm injury. P.J. Locke went on injured reserve Saturday with a foot injury.
Thompson had been on the field for every defensive snap through Dallas’ first nine-plus quarters of the season before the injury. He had made 17 tackles during that span.
