Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently designated as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as reported by head coach Dave Aranda. The Bears are hopeful that Lagway will be fit to play in their upcoming matchup against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
Lagway sustained the injury during a close 17-16 loss to Auburn in the season opener. Despite being injured, he played the entire game and effectively led the offense, although his movement was restricted. In his first appearance for Baylor, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes for 333 yards, scoring two touchdowns and one interception.
He played a key role in a late-game comeback, connecting with Gavin Freeman on a crucial fourth-and-10 and later throwing a touchdown pass to Freeman with just seconds left on the clock.
Updates on Lagway's recovery are anticipated following practices on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the team continues to assess his condition.
