TCU has added former player Angela Stanford to its women’s golf staff as an assistant coach. Stanford is from Saginaw, which is about 15 miles from Fort Worth.
Stanford played for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000 and earned All-American recognition four times. No other player in TCU women’s golf history has received that honor four times. She also holds the program record with 10 wins.
Her hiring follows Stanford’s recent service as the U.S. captain at the Solheim Cup. TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said Stanford’s background as a major champion and her work leading the U.S. Solheim Cup team were among the reasons for the addition. Ravaioli-Larkin also said the program was thrilled to have Stanford return as its third coach. TCU did not provide further details about Stanford’s responsibilities.
