Tayven Jackson will lead the North Texas Mean Green as their starting quarterback in the upcoming season opener against Indiana University on September 5, 2026. Jackson, who has a diverse background in college football, previously played for the Hoosiers and saw limited play at Tennessee in 2022.
He participated in 13 games for Indiana during the 2023-24 season, achieving a completion percentage of 61.2% with six touchdowns and six interceptions.
In 2025, Jackson transferred to the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he completed 63.5% of his passes, totaling 2,151 yards, ten touchdowns, and eight interceptions, contributing to the Knights' 5-7 season record. Prior to his college career, he excelled at Center Grove High School, where he amassed 4,813 passing yards and threw 47 touchdowns, leading his team to an undefeated championship in Class 6A.
Tayven Jackson is also the brother of Trayce Jackson-Davis, who was honored as Indiana's Mr. Basketball in 2019 and is currently playing his fourth season with the Toronto Raptors. The match between North Texas and Indiana is set to kick off at noon and will be aired on Fox.
