Suns withstand fourth-quarter push
A 25-17 fourth-quarter advantage brought San Antonio within reach, but Luke Kennard's 20 points helped Phoenix hold on for a 102-98 victory Saturday at Mortgage Matchup Center. The Suns were the home team and finished with a 1-2 record, while the visiting Spurs fell to 0-2.
San Antonio closed the game with a late scoring burst. Maliq Brown made 3-pointers that cut the margin, including one that made it 98-102, but Phoenix kept the lead through the final sequence. The Spurs' fourth-quarter rally followed a third period in which the Suns extended their advantage.
