Vitol BioMethane LLC announced the commencement of commercial operations at its BMP Texoma LLC renewable natural gas facility located at the Texoma Area Solid Waste Authority landfill in Whitesboro, Texas. The facility is situated in Grayson County.

Vitol BioMethane developed the Texoma Project in partnership with the Texoma Area Solid Waste Authority following the award of a contract to develop and operate a landfill-gas-to-energy initiative at the site. The project includes the construction of a new Gas Collection and Control System, an RNG processing plant, a natural gas pipeline, and a pipeline interconnection. These components are designed to capture and process landfill gas into renewable natural gas, with the goal of reducing reliance on traditional fossil fuels.

The Texoma Project captures landfill methane and converts it into renewable natural gas. This fuel is used to help power local homes and transportation fuel fleets, supporting emissions reduction and lower-carbon energy solutions.

John Paul Elder, President of Vitol BioMethane, stated, "The opening of the Texoma site reflects our commitment to developing practical, scalable renewable energy solutions. We are proud to celebrate this milestone alongside our partners, employees, and community stakeholders."

Vitol BioMethane is a US-based company focused on the development, construction, and operation of landfill-gas-to-energy facilities. The company was originally established as BioMethane Partners in 2021 and was acquired by Vitol in 2023. VBM works with public and private landfill owners across the United States to capture and process landfill gas for injection into the natural gas pipeline system.

City of Denison leaders attended the ribbon cutting of Vitol BioMethane in Whitesboro last month. More information about the company is available at www.vitolbiomethane.com.
