The Mean Green men's basketball team from the University of North Texas is set to compete in the Snake River Invitational, a four-team tournament taking place at the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls from November 27 to 29.
Head coach Daniyal Robinson expressed enthusiasm about the event, noting that it aligns with the team's scheduling goals. He mentioned that their opponents—Boise State, North Dakota State, and Drake—have all participated in the NCAA Tournament in recent years, presenting a significant challenge for the team. Robinson highlighted that playing in an unfamiliar environment will simulate a postseason atmosphere, which is beneficial for the team.
North Texas will kick off the tournament against North Dakota State on November 27, marking the first matchup between the two programs. The Mean Green will then face Boise State on November 28, continuing their rivalry with this being the 11th meeting. Finally, on November 29, they will compete against Drake, which will be the 37th all-time contest between the two teams.
Game times for the tournament will be announced at a later date.
