Downtown Denison is preparing for a season of community events spanning September through November. The schedule includes wine tastings, live music festivals, and cultural celebrations centered around the historic district and Main Street.
The season opens on September 5 with two events highlighting the city's historical ties to France. The T.V. Munson Wine Walk honors the local horticulturist who assisted the French wine industry during the phylloxera crisis.
Participants can sample wine at local businesses, shop along Main Street, and tour the historic Vinita House. Later that afternoon, the Bonjour, Denison! French Market takes place at the Katy Depot and Plaza from 2 to 7 p.m., offering vendors, music, and local food.
Live music takes center stage on September 12 with two simultaneous festivals. The Rhythm & Rails Music Festival features performances across multiple stages in the downtown area, allowing attendees to explore local restaurants and shops between shows. On the same day, the Charlie Wylie Music Festival is held at the North Texas Regional Airport, headlined by Jason Boland & The Stragglers.
October brings the 39th Annual Fall Festival on October 3, hosted by the Denison Chamber of Commerce. Running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event fills Main Street with vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment. The month concludes on October 31 with Monsters on Main, a Halloween event where children can trick-or-treat along the historic district.
