Denison High School students are responsible for operating the video board and creating graphics for Yellow Jacket football games. The student-run broadcasting program, known as Yellow Jacket TV, is entering its sixth year of activity. The group consists of 23 students who manage various technical aspects of the game day presentation.
Victoria Lowe, the program advisor, stated that students handle all elements of the broadcast. This includes operating the switcher, managing camera views, running the cameras, and designing the graphics displayed on the board. Lowe noted that she has mentored some of these students since seventh grade and observed significant growth in their confidence over the years.
Preslee Palmer, a junior at Denison High School, described the video board as a key component of the game day experience. She explained that fans expect to see visuals and hear music upon arrival. Palmer added that her future college plans are closely tied to the skills she is developing in this role.
Kylie Jo Turner, another junior, listed the specific tasks the team performs, such as creating scoreboards and entertaining graphics for events like kickoff.
