The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site in Denison is scheduled to host Ike's History Festival on Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5. The event will take place at the site located at 609 S. Lamar Ave. in Denison.
Operating hours for both days are from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is priced at $3 per person, with free entry for children aged 5 and under. The ticket price also covers a tour of the Birthplace, which runs at regularly scheduled times with limited availability.
Historic and nature-based organizations from across the state will present activities and displays suitable for all ages. The participating groups for both Friday and Saturday include the National Museum of the Pacific War, Ft.
McKavett State Historic Site, San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, Star of the Republic Museum, Goodnight Ranch State Historic Site, Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site, Sam Bell Maxey State Historic Site, Grayson County Frontier Village, and Eisenhower State Park.
Specific groups will appear on only one day. The Bluestem Master Naturalists and the Denison Library are scheduled for Friday only. The Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge will participate on Saturday only.
