Denison High School has identified five senior students as nominees for its upcoming homecoming court. The selections include Tacorian Babers, Jaliyah Baker, Kenzleigh Barrett, Cassidy Julsing, and Hallie Prater. Each nominee’s background, activities, and future educational goals were outlined in the school's announcement.
Tacorian Babers, daughter of Jessica and Eric Babers, will be escorted by her father at halftime and by Caden Brooks during the court presentation. A four-year member of the volleyball team, she earned Offensive Player of the Year honors for the 2024-2025 season and was named MVP, First Team All District, and First Team All Texomaland for the 2025-2026 campaign.
Babers recently achieved her 400th career kill. She has participated in cheerleading and cosmetology for four years each, served as a Denteens member for four years, and maintained a spot on the Honor Roll for the same period. She is committed to playing volleyball at Dallas Baptist University.
Jaliyah Baker, daughter of Kasaundra and Tyrell Baker, will be escorted by her father at halftime and Deiondre Goree for the court presentation. A four-year cosmetology student, she served as vice president of the program and is nearing the completion of the 1,000 hours required for her state board exam.
Her accolades include a 2025 CTE award and the Heart of a Jacket award for JV cheerleading in 2025. Baker plans to attend the University of North Texas for a business degree before opening her own salon.
Kenzleigh Barrett, daughter of Keslie Stiles and Lester Barrett, will be escorted by her father at halftime and Leyton Owens for the court presentation. She has spent four years each in the DHS Stingerettes, Denteens, and Encroix, a fellowship of Christian dancers. Barrett has assisted with Neewollah Royalty fundraising and participated in community events like Read Across Denison and National Night Out.
She intends to major in nursing with the goal of becoming a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
Cassidy Julsing, daughter of Robert Baker, will be escorted by her father at halftime and Paxton Neasbitt for the court presentation. A four-year cheerleader, she serves as co-captain in her senior year. She has also been on Student Council for four years, serving as pink-out coordinator during her junior year and BOD coordinator as a senior.
