Turning Point
The Houston Astros completed a dramatic comeback on Tuesday, scoring four unanswered runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure a 6-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. The win improved Houston’s record to 53-55, while the Angels fell to 42-65.
Early Angles Strike First
Los Angeles established an early lead, taking control in the first and third innings against Astros starter Cristian Javier. In the top of the first, Neto scored on a sacrifice fly by Schanuel, followed by another run when Grissom singled to right and Trout crossed home plate. The Angels extended their advantage in the third inning.
Grissom launched a 395-foot home run to left center, and Adell later drove in Lowe with a double to right field.
Houston finally broke through in the fourth inning. Trammell homered to center, measuring 412 feet, to cut the deficit to 4-1. The Astros continued to chip away at the lead in the eighth inning. Alvarez singled to left, allowing Peña to score and make it a two-run game.
Ninth-Inning Explosion
The momentum shifted decisively in the ninth inning. Spence reached base on a ground ball but advanced due to errors by Angels second baseman Grissom and pitcher Sam Bachman. Trammell scored on the error, tying the game at 4-4. Paredes was then hit by a pitch; the call was upheld after an Angels challenge, allowing Spence to score from first base.
