Denison, Texas — Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area averaged $3.6260 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 16, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.4950 yesterday. That is up from $3.3250 a week ago but higher than $3.2980 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.5470, while the national average is $3.9430. Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Sherman-Denison average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8150. Regular prices are about 33 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.8530, drivers are paying about 77 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Sherman-Denison area averages $4.7220 per gallon, AAA reported.
