Denison earns first district win, heads to Frisco on Oct. 9

A 55–14 home win over Independence ended a four-game slide. The Yellow Jackets visit Frisco at David Kuykendall Stadium on Friday.

Denison has a district win to build on heading into Friday’s trip to Frisco. The Yellow Jackets beat Frisco Independence 55–14 at Munson Stadium on Oct. 2, ending a four-game losing streak.

The result puts Denison at 2–4 overall and 1–3 in district play, according to the MaxPreps schedule and results linked from Denison ISD’s athletics page. Independence also stands at 2–4.

The Yellow Jackets’ next game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at David Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco. The matchup against Frisco High appears on Frisco ISD’s 2026 football schedule.

The district-linked results list losses to Decatur, Richland, Panther Creek and Emerson before the Independence game. Friday’s win was Denison’s first since its season-opening victory over Sherman.
