Texoma Medical Center in Denison has appointed Andrew Wilson as its new Chief Executive Officer. Wilson, a native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, joins the facility from Doctors Hospital of Laredo, where he has served as CEO since January 2024. During his tenure there, he oversaw the creation of a 24/7 neurosurgery program and secured approval for a neuro interventional suite. He also directed recruitment efforts for clinicians in urology and trauma surgery.
Wilson’s career with Universal Health Services, Inc. subsidiaries began in 2017 when he joined Doctors Hospital of Laredo as an Associate Administrator. Prior to his current role, he served as CEO of Cornerstone Regional Hospital in Edinburg from 2019 to 2021. In that position, he focused on recruiting physicians, improving operating room efficiencies, and launching new imaging and surgery programs. These initiatives contributed to improved financial performance and patient experience metrics at the hospital.
Before moving to Cornerstone Regional Hospital, Wilson held the Chief Operating Officer position at South Texas Health System McAllen starting in 2021. His responsibilities included driving operational efficiencies that increased patient census and throughput. He also supported the pursuit of Level 1 Trauma status, coordinated new Graduate Medical Education programs, and led the conceptualization of a Neuro-ICU project. Additionally, he worked on physician alignment efforts to expand medical staff specialties.
Wilson expressed honor at joining Texoma Medical Center and the broader Texoma community. He stated his intention to work with the existing healthcare team to build on the organization's foundation. His goals include delivering high-quality care, embracing innovation, and expanding services to meet regional needs. He emphasized a commitment to serving patients and supporting staff to strengthen health and wellbeing on both sides of the Red River.
Wilson began his career as a Laboratory Manager before advancing through various hospital administration roles. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Health Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
