Ruiz Food Products has appointed Mark Griffith as senior vice president for its foodservice business unit, the company announced on Monday. The appointment fills a previously vacant position within the organization.

In this new role, Griffith will oversee the strategic direction of the foodservice portfolio. His responsibilities include developing sales and marketing strategies, managing profit and loss accountability, and coordinating execution across sales, marketing, supply chain, and research and development teams.

Kimberli Carroll, president and CEO of Ruiz Foods, described Griffith as a proven leader with an exceptional track record. She stated that his strategic expertise and cross-functional leadership make him the ideal person to guide the foodservice business unit forward.

Griffith joins Ruiz Foods from Philip Morris International U.S., where he spent the last four years in business development. According to his LinkedIn profile, he led strategic sales, marketing, and corporate partnerships across chain and wholesale channels during his tenure there.

Prior to his time at Philip Morris, Griffith served as a sales director for cannabis company Cronos Group for one and a half years. He also held various roles with tobacco manufacturer Altria for more than 12 years, according to his professional bio.

Ruiz Foods manufactures popular frozen food brands commonly sold in convenience stores, including El Monterey and Tornados. The company is based in Denison.

Griffith expressed excitement about leading the foodservice business unit. He noted that the team is strong and stated he looks forward to collaborating with them to deliver exceptional value to convenience store and wholesale partners.
