Opening Frame Dominance

The Nashville Predators established control early and held it through the final horn, defeating the visiting Dallas Stars 2-1 at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday. The outcome was decided entirely in the opening period, where Nashville overcame an initial deficit with two quick responses to take a lead they would not relinquish.

Dallas struck first when Miro Heiskanen capitalized on a wrist shot to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage. The goal, marked as Heiskanen’s first of the season, was supported by assists from Mikko Rantanen and Wyatt Johnston, giving the Stars a brief early cushion.

Nashville's Response

Nashville answered immediately in the same period. Steven Stamkos tied the game at 1-1 with a snap shot. The effort was assisted by Ryan O'Reilly and Roman Josi, marking Stamkos’ first goal and point of the campaign.

Just moments later, the momentum shifted decisively toward home ice. Nils Hoglander deflected a puck past the Dallas goaltender to restore Nashville’s lead at 2-1. Jack Ahcan and Alexander Kerfoot recorded assists on the play, which stood as Hoglander’s first goal.

Final Periods Remain Scoreless

After the flurry of action in the first period, the game settled into a defensive struggle. Neither team managed to register another goal in the second or third periods. The Dallas offense was unable to find the back of the net to tie or take the lead, while Nashville’s defense held firm to protect their one-goal advantage.

Post-Game Records

The victory improved Nashville’s record to 1-1-0, earning them two points in the standings. For Dallas, the loss kept them winless at 0-2-0 with zero points. The game drew an attendance of 17,260 spectators to Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
