Bouanga Double, Son Strike Sink Austin FC at BMO Stadium

Austin's equalizer does not last

Brandon Vázquez's shot from outside the box in the 66th minute tied Austin FC with LAFC at 1-1 on Wednesday night. One minute later, Denis Bouanga scored his second goal, and LAFC went on to win 3-1 at BMO Stadium.

Goals

Bouanga opened the scoring in the 52nd minute after a scoreless first half, finishing from very close range on a pass from Son Heung-Min. Vázquez's equalizer was assisted by Myrto Uzuni, who entered in the 63rd minute.

Son set up Bouanga again in the 67th minute and scored LAFC's third goal in the 72nd, assisted by Jacob Shaffelburg.

By the numbers

LAFC outshot Austin 28-14. Austin held 60 percent of possession. Austin goalkeeper Brad Stuver made eight saves, and Hugo Lloris made three for LAFC. Bouanga took eight shots.
