Grayson County Commissioners Court will meet Monday, Oct. 5, a day earlier than its usual Tuesday slot, the Herald Democrat reported. The 10 a.m. session is in the commissioners courtroom at 100 W. Houston St. in Sherman.

Airport work

The action items include a grant agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation, numbered 2601GRAYS, covering construction schedule II for South Apron improvements at North Texas Regional Airport/Perrin Field, the county-owned airport. County Judge Bruce Dawsey and County Auditor Suzette Smith are listed as presenting the item. The agenda does not list a dollar amount.

The vote comes on the same day Kyle Holtz starts as the airport's manager. Commissioners confirmed his hiring Sept. 29, with a start date of Oct. 5.

Election and other business

Commissioners are also set to approve the official notice of the Nov. 3 general election. The county elections office lists Monday as the registration deadline for that election.

Other items on the agenda:

  • Renewing the county clerk's agreement with Neumo for a property alert program.
  • Accepting private donations for a chip-and-seal project in the Pop Noah Road area, presented by Precinct 3 Commissioner Lindsay Wright.
  • Short plats for the Middleton Addition on Grissom Road in Precinct 2 and the Sherman Creek Addition in Precinct 3.

On the consent agenda, the court is scheduled to accept a $54,057.59 insurance check from the Texas Association of Counties for water damage to the Texoma Regional Blood Center building and send the proceeds to Carter BloodCare. It is also scheduled to renew an agreement under which Cooke County houses Grayson County jail inmates when needed.

The agenda allows residents to speak on listed items for up to three minutes. Speakers should fill out a request-to-speak card and give it to the clerk before the meeting starts.
